Rotoiti Water Shuttles is a dedicated water taxi service on Lake Rotoiti providing public access to the Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools.
For over a hundred years the tranquil healing waters of these pools have offered respite to those fortunate enough to have access to a boat.
Our experienced local skippers are here to provide a safe and enjoyable excursion for you and your family. They love being out on the water and can’t wait to show you the magic of Lake Rotoiti and its amazing hot pools.
Rotoiti Water Shuttles is run in affiliation with the established local luxury charter operation, Pure Cruise. Please feel free to check out their website here, for information regarding private charters on their sailing catamaran “Tiua”.
About the Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools
Meet Cath & Rhys- these legends have been managing Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools as the onsite managers since 2012.
Being accessible only by boat or by air is what keeps this haven so unspoiled and pristine. Come and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding native flora and fauna, with eight mineral hot pools to soak in and the clear blue lake waters to cool down in.
Change in the changing rooms provided, select the mineral hot pool based on your temperature preference, and slip in to soak away your worries – awakening the mind, body, and soul. Head down to the lake for an exhilarating dive off the jetty or whizz down the slide into New Zealand’s biggest plunge pool!
Our Vessels
‘Rotoiti Discovery’
For groups up to 12, we use the “Rotoiti Discovery”. A comfortable and covered pontoon boat with couch seating. This vessel is suitable for families with small children and also those with limited mobility. With fantastic 360degree views you will immediately be immersed in the wonderful scenery and birdlife of Lake Rotoiti.
‘Rotoiti Explorer’
For larger groups we use the “Rotoiti Explorer”. Capable of carrying up to 50 passengers, this 40ft pontoon vessel boasts two passenger decks. Featuring great outdoor viewing areas on both levels and plenty of covered space, you will be sure to have a comfortable trip to the hot pools.
‘The Airstream Project’
We have designed and hand built an electric drive floating work of art!
This retro styled vessel draws it’s inspiration from classic 1960’s Airstream trailers, second world war aircraft and Italian speed boats!
The exterior is polished aluminum, with a few of thousand solid rivets joining the framing and panels. All of the side windows slide up into the roof while the internal frames are left exposed giving a stripped back aircraft look and feel inside. The sides fold out and couches pivot out over the water allowing guests to get so much closer to the lake and bush clad shorelines.
