About the Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools
Meet Cath & Rhys – the incredible duo who’ve been managing Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools since 2012.
Accessible only by boat or air, this hidden haven remains beautifully unspoiled. Surrounded by native bush and birdlife, it’s the perfect spot to relax and recharge, with eight mineral-rich hot pools and the crystal-clear lake for a refreshing cool-off.
Get changed in the onsite facilities, choose your ideal pool temperature, and slip in to soak away stress — rejuvenating your mind, body, and soul. For a thrill, head to the lake for a dive off the jetty or shoot down the slide into New Zealand’s biggest plunge pool!
Our Vessels
‘Lake Lounge’
For daily water shuttles of up to 18, we use the “Lake Lounge” — a comfortable, covered pontoon boat featuring spacious couch seating.
This vessel is ideal for families with young children and those with limited mobility. With panoramic 360-degree views, you’ll be instantly immersed in the stunning scenery and abundant birdlife of Lake Rotoiti.
‘Rotoiti Explorer’
For larger, predominantly private groups, we use the “Rotoiti Explorer” — a 40ft pontoon vessel capable of carrying up to 45 passengers.
With two spacious passenger decks, ample covered seating, and excellent outdoor viewing areas on both levels, you’ll enjoy a comfortable and scenic journey to the hot pools.
During peak season, this vessel may also be used as part of our water shuttle service.
‘The Airstream Project’
For groups of up to 18 people, we use the “Airstream Project” — a hand-built floating work of art, designed for private charter experiences.
This retro-styled vessel draws inspiration from 1960s Airstream trailers, WWII aircraft, and classic Italian speedboats. The polished aluminum exterior is joined with thousands of solid rivets, giving it a distinctive, eye-catching finish. Inside, the exposed internal framing and sliding side windows evoke a stripped-back aircraft feel.
The vessel’s unique features include fold-out sides and pivoting couches that extend over the water, allowing guests to get even closer to Lake Rotoiti and its stunning bush-clad shorelines.
During the off-season, this vessel may also be used as part of our water shuttle service.
